Project Description

A home companion where nature and your daily routine connect.

Lotus was created as part of a collaboration with the Polygon Gallery. We designed and crafted products tailored to the gallery’s audience, aiming to create something purposeful as we explored the potential and limits of the chosen material. This home companion merges nature with daily life, featuring soft petal-like forms in laminated wood to create a shared space for cherished objects and natural beauty.

In the ideation stage, we created a set of keywords that would guide our design direction in the context of the Polygon's audience:

routine, inner child, freedom, flow, adventure, and belonging.

A form that caught everyone’s attention was the flower, a play in organization, nature and displaying things playfully in your personal space.

In the development process we created wooden petals individually which allowed us to rearrange the form and revealed how the use of less petals, while still evoking nature, felt more precious and allowed each element to be appreciated more.

The design process of this project also included taking our product onto the promotional realm, where through packaging design and promotional posters we showcased the elegance of Lotus’ curves alongside the range of its functionality. These represent the story of both the team’s brand and the form itself.
