Project Description
Design process of a blazer that balances casual wear and elegance within a single piece. The project plays with standard blazer silhouettes and seeks to adapt them for greater versatility in its day-to-day use. While sticking to more common construction materials, we explored asymmetrical forms and contemporary fashion trends.
We decided on key design elements for the blazer, such as a boxy yet flattering fit, asymmetrical or unconventional closures and high necklines. At this stage, there were other considerations, such as the use of colour blocking or textural contrast, but we ultimately decided to focus on a cleaner direction to keep the design minimal and versatile.
The final design features an asymmetrical front panel with oversized buttons that create an off-center visual focus. The boxy, cropped silhouette offers a flattering and structured modern fit. The selected fabric is a medium-weight twill in a deep green tone, inspired by traditional blazer aesthetics.
