Design Challenge

One Day Table started as a collaborative design challenge where we tackled the process of making, from sketching to CAD modelling to building and assembling the final prototype, all in 24 hours.

The project started as an appreciation of craft through wood practices and how the love for making can be a shared experience that materializes into a physical object.

The collaborative nature of this project, alongside the self-imposed time restrictions, created many challenges in the project, requiring quick decision-making and effective organization throughout the process.

Finalizing the design was a challenge we approached by defining a shared visual language and sketching intuitively, guided by key elements in the design brief.

The low seating table provides an easily-accessible, grounding experience that fosters community.
